I was really undecided about the immigration thing being from a family of immigrants it was kind of hypocritical to take a stance knowing so little about the issues. The wife showed me a bunch of statistics showing how much tax payer $$$ goes to them while we have american citizens regardless of skin color starving on the streets. Doesnt make sense to me.

My grandfather who immigrated from Sicily completely made my decision when he described his shock at what they get and how they openly protest while being here illegally its a far cry from the pride he felt after becoming a citizen and the issues he endured at the time

this. 1000000%. Part of my family came straight from Poland, the other parts from Italy, Ireland and Wales. As close as my great grandparents....ALL of them loved becoming citizens....now we are terrible people for welcoming all other countries who come here legally...

You want racist? talk to a polish grandfather and great grandfather who dealt with the drama of being an immigrant and proudly became a US citizen and THEN had to see how illegals are put on a pedestal now...Wooo...

Thx man i believe most of us on here share the same set of values. Skin color never did nor never will impact how i act. We all bleed the same color
 
hello; Things were going fairly well for a time when we were not responding to the "troll". As I read thru the new posts today I see that the troll has been well fed and is right back to the same old stuff, including the name calling.
It was not that long ago a moderator warned that the thread was close to being shut down. I think it was largely due to the way this troll posted and the reactions to those posts.

As per the instructions of the MOD, I have reported the troll in the last couple of days and will do so again if the name calling continues.

I almost cried when my wife was being sworn in as a legal citizen because 90% of the group were Mexicans. I was so proud of them doing it the legal way.

Amen to that. Both sets of grandparents immigrated and they absolutely have nothing good to say about their former homeland. They would have never been given the opportunities they had in itlay. My one grandfather came here with nothing but 20 bucks in his pocket and ended up becpming the cheif engineer in madison square garden. This guy was soo proud to be a citizen he refused to even accept un-employment benefits while he was laid off at some point. A litte obsurd imo but i can see where he was coming from

I came close but I've been under this self imposed rule of not reporting/narcing on anyone(outside of a bot) no matter how stupid they are.
 
Disagreeing is a good thing... part of a civilized society. How many countries exist where we'd all be dragfed into the streets and shot for openly disagreeing with the cboices their gvt is a making. I bet this guy doesnt even sippirt the things hes saying. Hes enjoys just getting a rise out of everyone and the attention. Sadly i fed into this

Hello; These were the reasons I did not use the "report" feature in the past. I can go toe to toe with most anyone in an argument ( I have been married twice) and can handle most ant sort of language ( my father was a Marine).

The moderator told us to report these things and this troll is not worth losing the thread over. I can live with being a rat under these conditions. There are a lot of things I would say to the troll if it were not for the rules of the forum. He on the other hand takes advantage of such restraint. If the mods will allow a truly open discussion, then I will have some choice comments for the troll.

When I graduated basic training they swore all of the immigrants in as American citizens, even flew in most of their family from other countries to watch. I will NEVER forget watching my homeboy, Meng, straight from China, cry his eyes out as they told him he was officially a citizen of the United States. His parents were in the process of becoming citizens as well.

My Italian part of the family loved Italy but had nothing good to say about the economy lol. That's awesome he became the chief engineer at such an iconic place no less! My relatives were the same way, no unemployment and no hand outs, they earned every damn cent they made in this country. MURICA.
