Same here pretty much.Recently I have been hearing that many Mexicans don't even celebrate it themselves lol.I assume it is just another day for companies to use to try to pull in extra revenue.
 
It celebrates a battle the Mexican Army won against France. In Mexico, it's mostly celebrated in the state the battle was won from what I understand.
 
Yeah....they mention that on the news just about every year but I tend to forget it for some reason.
