Hello; Not sure how to word this so let first say I do not wish to make light of the tragedy for the people involved.
That said my question has to do with the wrecked fuel tanker where a large number of people were killed. I saw a news report that a large number of folks were gathered around the wrecked tanker in the process of scooping up the spilled gasoline that had formed puddles. In the pictures prior to the explosion some were wading in the pools of fuel. The reporter speculated that someone may have had a lit cigarette that caused the fuel to light up.
Now when I go to fuel up I try to go to a pump at the furthest end of the line of pumps. Too many times I have seen some "idiot" gassing up with a lit cigarette. Never mind the large NO SMOKING signs.
Times may be tough enough that some free fuel is worth the chance, but I do not quite get it.
Apparently the police were telling people to stay back but were ignored.
I must question the wisdom of scooping up fuel near a wrecked tanker. ( Not exactly what I want to say, but as my starting statement in this the post I am not sure how to word my feelings.)
