big loading wreck. she's much weaker than last our last ride :-(
76 lbs, I couldn't lift enough to prevent falls.
The vet was focusing on throat probs that old dogs commonly get. had me watch/listen to a video of a dog hacking. I said that's not really what mine does,.. and I'm worried she's got heart problems or a growth down in her throat or something..
SO the vet got real down & dirty with her stethoscope for quite a while. Lo & Behold, one side of her heart is silent, other side is too quiet & not the normal sound. [more than I expected]
? I'm thinking how many cylinders can a dog go without?
breathing difficulties- not a throat prob.
My dog is such a cheerful trooper, the vet's looking at her & says "you know she looks really good for her age. she's not ready to Just Go."
sighhh
Getting tests Friday: bloodwork, ECG, chest xrays to see if there's chest congestion or something meds can help.. her feel better & give some more time.
no vet cardiologist for at least 4 hours drive, sooo diagnosis might be sketchy.
Assistant lifted her back in the truck for me. THAT was way better.
Afterwards, I bought a dog ramp.
she's tired. I dunno...
Even though it's pathetic this is almost funny: me trying to teach a deaf, 14.9 yr old half blind dog who just fell out the truck doorway to trust walking up a loading ramp in one day.
