So I hauled my 9yo out with me to try and catch the meteor shower with me. She kept playing her 3ds and i demanded she stopped and looked at the stars. I commented on how pretty they were, this generation kid says "why do people look at stars? We have tv."

Some shady ford salesman tried to tell me a 2013 Ford Escape SE with a couple of options is worth 37k.

Then he has the audacity to tell me they can price match when I showed them a quote I had with another dealer showing the same escape, at titanium level, fully loaded at 35k.

Sorry, should I just over look the fact that you just tried to swindle 5k or more out of me? ;)

Of course it would be a long shot of buying a ford anyway. The same class honda crv fully loaded is around 28k + tax and doc for around 31k out the door. Rav4 is around 33k fully loaded out the door.

And for 37k out the door, I could get a pretty well equipped Honda pilot or Toyota highlander though not fully loaded.

My mother-in-law just bought a loaded CRV and it is pretty darned nice. I believe she said that she paid 26k after trading in their older Chevy Silverado. I don't know if you like Subarus at all, but the new Foresters look really nice.
 
Sooooo.....getting ready to go camping, we realized that all the air mattresses at Mike's had holes in them (courtesy his brother's cat) so we went online and got a queen size memory foam mattress pad. It's 6" thick and currently taking up my entire back seat. Note to self: don't get the biggest one you can...you might not be able to fit it in the car. Hahaha. Now we're wondering where we're going to put two suitcases and a cooler. :/ my trunk's big, but not that big...

Beef jerky is done. I messed up slightly on the marinade, but the meat itself turned out great. Next time I will change the marinade.

Riiight, because that is camping... I go camping with a hennessy hammock, clothes, a knife, a water bottle, and a fire steel.
