Hello; Consider, if you will, a tale of minor woe. I found a car hauler trailer in an ad on the local craiglist. After some phone tag, finaly made arangments to meet with the seller this afternoon at 5:00 PM at his church. A little over an hours drive away. He had a story that I would not be able to find his place (Which turned out to be a good thing given my frame of mind for a brief peroid of time.) Made the drive an found the church with ten minutes to spare. The appointed time came and went. About ten minutes past I called from a cell.
Some of you have likely guessed this next part. He tells me that a guy just showed up a short time earlier and he sold the trailer to him. Knowing I was on the way having spoken to him earlier in the day. I get the bird in the hand logic and all that but it still shorted out a fuse of mine. This is where my not having his physical location turns out to have been a type of a blessing.
He even called back twice saying he had a friend with a trailer for sale. Fortunate that I was driving and my friend was doing the talking so I was not given the opportunity to "Trump" him verbally. Shaft me once, shame on you. Shaft me twice, shame on me. Also consider that I was holding cash.
Vented out some while mowing the back yard.
There was a bright side. To those who know about "the tail of the dragon", Hwy 129 in TN. Well I found a couple of back roads that may well rival that storied stretch. State Hwy 66 between Sneedville TN and Rodgersville TN. Unfortunately I was driving a pickup truck today. Lots of such stretches of road around here. Very much the long and winding road.
Oh well. Sometimes your the hammer and other times you are the nail. Guess I have built up a reserve of good karma. I wonder if it was feeding that stray cat??

The eleven mile stretch of road with three hundred and eighteen turns? I'm not brave enough to go through that with a car. In my opinion there's too many minivans trying to be race cars. But maybe I'll have to try that streach next time I'm down in the area.
