No on is talking about the good ol days you keep bringing up. The fact is that you are saying its too much work to deal with the offender alone instead of locking a thread. Im saying this was exactly how it was done.

Are you a mod ? What does it matter to you how they deal with this going forward ?

Seems to all he a moot argument any way. Mods and staff will choose how to proceed. Members will choose what there future holds.
 
Frank - there is an ignore option on MFK. If what I have to say causes you such angst, please use it. Otherwise I think I will let Rob & the mods here decide when I need to be silenced.

The good ol days seems to have been brought up earlier in this discussion, and others recently, and it ties in directly with the moderating comments here. You wouldn't know that, because you weren't a member here back in the good ol days. lol

Im not going to reply the way i originally planned. Thanks for the insight RD as always its been enlightening.
 
Why we have a grace period anyone want to talk about fish food or tank size?
 
I'll be bowing out of this conversation now, it seems to have ran its course to an acceptable end IMO. Plus there's too many new posts notices for this topic evey time I click the site so want to "unwatch" it for now since I'm satisfied with the explinations given. Funny that a topic about modding when problems arise actually has some people sniping back & forth at each other now :duh: lol

Rob, Homer and headbanger I do appreciate you guys taking the time to reply to all this, I know it's not a fun part of running a site so thanks for being interactive with us about it :) The explanation Rob gave last is good with me so I have no more issues on my end for now. We'll just see how things go in the future and keep fingers crossed nothing major changes.

Like most have said, I like the lounge as a way to get to know members better and to keep me logging in when there is nothing in the fish topics I can contribute to or am interested in.
Most brawls seem to happen in the fish threads anyway and not here, I wonder how many members even look at the lounge topics, I reckon it would only be a small percentage.
Anything that could get some of the members who have dropped off back on is a good thing but I think the lounge isn't the issue, it's more down to personal behaviour and conduct across all the threads.

Now when we all use them, I find myself enjoying the place.
But I'm not representative of the haplotype, pre-Jan 2019.
The pre Ulu experience is yours alone. Why do I comment?

The main issue I see isn't current events or politics or religion or guns.

It's members who can't forgive old curses and mockings.
And a plain old lack of charity, here and there, to those we find unlikable.

Many fine members approach the line of muffled battle with trepidation, and I see it daily. They have my sympathies.
