I get the point, theyr gonna build the damn. Its just terrible. Its just not that dolphin species thats gonna die, its alot of other species, like the Mekong Giant Catfish, and its a shame. Luckily the Mekong giant catfish is not gonna completly go extinct, Theres alot of big game fishing place that has them, but its still ****nest.

^ the whole "people come first" is what's wrong with humanity. It shows a lack of humanity, nature allowed us to live in the first place, giving it a backseat to booming overpopulation will probably be the worst mistake any govt could make and will be invariably looked back upon with disgust and dissapointment by future generations.
The whole well the west isn't much better argument doesn't apply here, WE didn't approve any of the terrible things all of our governments have done. We wouldn't because we know better, most of us now know money isn't everything. Hopefully w/ the older generation on the way out of power things will get better for everything.

That probably hinges on the Laoation government allowing others to come in and capture a few of the dolphins.
^ yeah they do have a good amount of fisheries but I doubt many would even know where to begin w/ proper husbandry for a FW dolphin. Come to think of it, has anyone seen ANY species of FW dolphin in an aquarium or captive pond?

I value human life over animals. I think I may just have to adjust my attitude toward those who don't put people first - after all, that's what they want in the first place. 
Seriously though, it's kind of hypocritical of Americans talking about overpopulation, as we per capita, consumes more resources than third world country population; especially the fish keeping crowd.

Putting human life before animal life is what got us in this overpopulation disaster as it is. W/o the animals humans would not have been able to develop at all. If everyone always puts human life before nature then we are dooming future generations to a degenerate, disgusting, mostly mechanical world. Too many people is bad, i dont understand why some people done get it.
Overpopulation is too many people, not people consuming too much, thats a side effect of the overpopulation. People need to be educated on our own reproduction so people stop spitting out babies like rabbits. If we as the public dont realize this all govts WILL place population restrictions like China. Its not a matter of if, just when.
