Ok Im starting my DIY stand now!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I repeated all of the steps above to get my second frame. Same procedure so I didnt take any pix of me doing it. I just have a pic of the second frame.

So thats all I got to today. In the above 3 pictures you can tell that Im not finished yet. I need to get a few pieces of wood cut into 6" pieces. I need six 6" pieces to hold the two frames together. The crossbraces will be 3 on top. 3 on bottom.

That is where Im at right now. Hopefully Ill have my cuts by tomorrow, so we might have an update soon.

Thanks for your patients with this project. It is coming along nicely now.

Probably right. But its better to be safe then sorry tho, ya know?

actually the 1x3's would be safer than what they sell at stores... 2x4's are like nitrous on a bugatti veyron

   that would be what 500-600 km an hour?:headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 yeh thing is it would use it so quicly there'd be no chance to get to that speed.

Dont know that much about cars so I dont know what your talking about. lol.

The Veyron is the worlds fastest production car with a top speed of 252 mph...

A 1001 hp vehicle is way beyond the point of insanity. So what does that mean for adding nitrous(a chemical injection that instantly adds 100+ hp)?

Meaning....if you look at the stands they sell at petsmart and your LFS, its almost hilarious that the company has confidence to sell such a pathetic-weak stand. Using 2x3's and paneling is bulletproof for a 29g. using 2x4's would be like if I used 6x6's and 2x12's for my 125g stand.

As long as your having fun building this fish home i'm sure we have something good to look forward to in awe *wink* ...new projects are always good for learning new stuff too...

good luck with the project an keep those updates coming man..:headbang2
