So "Monster" Doesnt refer to fish size? The Monster means the fishkeeper, they are the monster?
its all explained in post #14, if you read carefully ;)

I think the fishkeeper is only part of it, not all of it. I think you have to own a large fish to be called a monster fish keeper. I wouldnt consider someonme who keeps guppies and neon tetras a monster fish keeper, even if they have had them in their tank for 10 years. The word should be changed then, monster isnt a suitable name IMO.

Thats like saying a noob who gets in this hobby and quickly buys a few large fish, is not a monster fish keeper. What would you call them? There is people like this on this forum too.

IMO someone who keeps small community fish is NOT a monster fish keeper.

So lemme see, Li gets to create this site, come up with the name, decide what it stands for, then you and a few other snobby people that dont like to be associated with people who keep little fish get to decide the site's intended audience and what we stand for?

To me, a monsterfishkeeper is someone who has knowledge about fish, and cares for them. It doesn't matter the size of the tank or fish. Anyone could buy a 125 gallon and some large fish out of a display tank. But I doubt most people could make a 6 gallon nano reef. Are the salt water people with nano tanks not monsterfishkeepers? Are people with the same love/obsession with fish, but who can only afford a ten gallon compared to our 55, 75, 125, 210, 225, and 300 gallon tanks not monsterfishkeepers?

But I define large fish as 10" inches, or fish that can eat feeders. A big tank, to me, is 75 gallons. But I know to some of you that's like a goldfish bowl. :)

I'd say the majority of this site owns larger fish, that is why its called monster fish keepers. Trying to say the word "monster" refers to the fish keeper is funny.

I never said that people who keep smaller fish arent allowed here. But the majority keep larger fish.

my old 55g. more "monster" than any of these setup IMO. anybody with more money than sense can buy a huge tank and fill it with huge fish, feed and do water changes. afterall, thats all it takes really.

but something like this, its a whole different level. it may only be 55g and have a few tetras, but the overall tank, equipment, setup, and maintenance runs circles around what you would call a "monster" tank.

and btw, i also have a 400g full of large cichla, so i know both sides. they are both MONSTER

Dude, thats you guys contradicting yourselves. You guys said it matters about the fish keeper. The fish keeper is the monster regardless of fish size. Now I said what if its a noob keeping large fish, they are not a monsterfshkeeper, than what are they?
