I love this thread, so many monster sized convicts! I snapped a pic of mine. Though not large by any stretch, he is growing like a weed.

Here's an updated shot of the potential monster 1 day after being introduced into my 55... Hopefully with some varied diet and lots of water changes that can grow (its slightly smaller than at the store from the move im guessing)

This is my male..he is about 4 inches in this pic and is bigger now...and getting thick i need newer pics of him..^_^
Question... i don't see many cons with thick black lines like my male (and my female shes tailess and you can see her in the background of one of the pics)
..question is do they lose the stripes as they get older?..like fade or something ?.
I hope not i love the bold lines of cons..both in and out of breeding dress.

bump my own post.....do they lose there stripes with age?

I'm getting back into convicts. I let people make me think my fish were insubstantial. Now looking back, I feel like I turned my back on my true passion.

not the largest by far, but at a few months old i think hes doing pretty well. Im really lucky with this guy, he lives with livebears one other cichlid and a few dithers and i have NEVER even seen him chase another fish!
