i have a metal frame 20 gallon with a slate bottom that we first set-up in 1958. I havent tried to put water init for years but maybe i will give it a try and see if it still holds.

I also just realized that my 29 that sits in my entry foyer has been there since 1984. It stillhas its original undergravel filter and original heater too.

cool if you could shoot some pics of that tank i would like to see what it looks like

well I will chime in, you could say I collect antique tanks because when I see one I buy it even if I wont set it up right away. I have quite a few things in my basement that I have mass acquired so I can't take picks but here are a few

this will be my showcase betta walls when I do my fish store, they date back to the 1950's and came out of a hardware store in rural sask., it will be so cool when I set it up as the fish will be able to see the one beside it and it is rewired to run all six tanks of a single plug.

I also have a few other ones, like this one that I got from a guy who was about 70 who had had guppies in it since he was like 12 or so. had quite the story behind it and came with a killer antique stand.

anyone else got some pics of their old tanks?

My 55 is from 1972. I would take a pic of the date but it's covered in sand water and fish. :)

i got a slate bottom metal frame!!! they are bangin!! no clue how old it is. greatest aquarium

Here are some pictures of a friends tank. It was originally built in the very early 1900's and was in the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco. Interior dimensions are 120" x 24" x 24". I restored it for him over the course of two months. He has some older ones set up also from the 1800's, but I don't have pics of those. He is a VERY avid collector of antique aquariums.
