damn cross!! be careful the mods are on his side!!@CB good luck breeding them and plz drop some of the stock and i would even be so bold and say if you drop some of the stock (jd,eye biter) that you might be safe to put a 3rd fm and hope its a female

FMs look great doug. You really should get rid of the con, JDs, and eyebiter. I got a feeling that when you do those nice lookin FMs are gonna make a ton of little nice lookin FM fry....... Get on it son, Were seriously rooting for you..... You gotta feel it son, become the FIREMOUTH BREEDER!!!!!!

my Pleco and my Jag are having babies

Could I get a few?:nilly:

I don't know too much about firemouths, so I can't help you sex them. One thing I can tell you, though, is that your photography skills are improving. You took some nice shots there.

I love it when FM's flare their throats like in your pictures.....impressive displaying.

I don't see what a pleco and a Jag teaming up on another fish has to do with whether two firemouths that are defending a territory together is a pair or not. If something crazy happens, I'd like a few PlecJags though.

firemouths are very hard to sex just by lloking at them males and females can look very much alike they only way to te'll 100% is to get a breeding pair or to vent them

if you really wan't to breed firemouths i'd say trade the eye bitter one or both JDs and buy more firemouths and see if you can get a pair then take back which ever fish you have left and get a 10 gallon set up for raiseing fry a pair of firemouths in that size tank will act very aggressively twords there tank mates keep that in mind they may not be to strong of fish but they can still stress out the rest of your fish if they get really aggressive

BUT you really need to think about what are you going to do if they breed you won't be able to raise fry in that tank with all the other fish they will most likely be eaten you will most certainly need anouther tank to raise fry and then when they fry are raise and to big for yor fry tank what are you going to do with them you better find a pet store that doesn't have fire mouths or a friend with large fish or a hungry turtle they love cichlid fry
