Perhaps you should consider letting the other people know that you have an escapee, otherwise you'll find it when you hear the scream...

I need to find it BEFORE that happens! If that happens I will be asked to move.. I do not get along with my landlord as it is because he doesnt like pets but he bought the building after I was already living here so he cant say anything to me now... The heating system in here is water so I am praying that it is still in here.. its been about 9 hours... I dont know if it would be able to get into the wall.. and of course my husband is out of town this week and wont be home until Friday!

A little off topic, but you don't normally leave live rats in with your bp overnight do you?

As far as finding the snake, I agree with the other posts.....look UNDER the refridgerator, in shoes, and generally any other tight, warm place.

+1. You are lucky the snake escaped. May have saved it's life.

No I have never left it overnight.. why did I save its life? It usually kills it instantly when I put one in there.. I cant believe I didnt lock the top! I have been tearing apart my whole place trying to find it... My heart has been pounding so fast since 9:30 this morning I feel like I am gonna have a stroke soon!

this is why i keep fish when they escape they are easy to find lol

good luck

I've never left one all night before... usually it gets killed within 10 seconds of us putting it in there... but stupid me I left it in the box... it had pooped everywhere and I didnt want all the poop flying all over the tank. That is totally absurd and stupid.. yes I know! I cannot believe that I forgot to come back to check on it.. and most of all forgot to lock the top!!

I have torn apart my whole place trying to think of where it would hide.. but its fairly warm in here so it could be anywhere!! I looked in the shoes, under the fridge and stove, under the deep freezer.. in the closets, in the bathroom, tried to pull out the tv stand but its too heavy.. looked inside the stands for the fish tanks... I wish I had a flashlight... I need to figure out a way to draw it out from where its hiding.. its hungry, and thats my only leverage...

Do you have any pipes that run out of the house/apartment? If not then its still in the house, look in the closet and look through any cabinets etc..

Just stay calm and keep looking in all the areas other people have mentioned. It may make it's way back to it's cage so leave the top off. Remember that ball pythons don't like to be out in the open so it's most likely hiding in a dark, warm place. Don't forget to look under your couch and behind your washer and dryer.

The building is heated by hot water.. so I dont think that it could have gotten in there.. the neighbors upstairs once lost a hamster and a week later I found it down in my place though.. dont know how that happened..

Well...if i were you, id check every dark corner in the house.. Under the beds, shoes/rack, among clothes lying around, every tiny gap in the room/house..

Im not sure if this will work..but you could try to keep a rat in a cage...leave it out in the open and see if he comes out...

Beats me? but if you have no way out in terms of pipes or anything like that, then its gonna stay put. Just keep at it and put a heat source under your bed or an easily accessible area that still provides some sort of seclusion and it will perch there, if the temps in it current hiding area are not fit.
