You know using photoshop to make your images better is not cheating. Photoshop, just like your camera, is a tool. Your own digital camera has a processor engine in it that processes it to jpg format. This means you own camera applies it's own version of editing to your camera before turning it into jpg format. You only get pristine images if you shoot RAW. When shooting RAW then processing this in PS, it is essentially the same thing what your camera does except you get to choose what is done and not done to your images. Even when nshooting film, editing can be done during the developing process. So do you call that cheating as well?
