Since you like breeding, why not get a nice little pair of cichlids in the 55? Firemouths, convicts, and salvini are some of the more commonly seen CA Cichlid species that would be happy in a 55. There are many, many more less common species that would work too.

I know how it feels to be very excited to get fish in your tank. Do your best to just forget you have the tank. Before you know it, all your numbers will come back and you will feel better knowing that there is nothing to worry about.

A 55 gallon is fine for a Jack Dempsey,Severum,Green Terror, and Texas. Those are your options that you can put in a 55 gallon honestly for one of those fishes, since you don't plan on upgrading your tank anytime soon.

A 55 alone is not going to handle a pair and their fry unfortunately and we have no room for more tanks.
Yea I'm excited but I'm having fun just testing the water everyday and hearing the filters as weird as that sounds lol. I know my Oscar will be so much happier and healthier if I wait. I have already waited over a year, what's another month or so?
