I have Columbian Tetras in one tank that are a good 2-2.5" long. I really like them.
I just last weekend got 10 Buenos Aires Tetras at the Petsmart $1 sale. They are fairly big already at 1.5".
Both are very pretty and do great. I would suggest at least 15-20 in your tank. Depending if you can get them at a great price. They school very well and look great doing it.

Thats AWESOME! I was hoping for a large school of ditchers rather than like 6-8. After finals are over Im going to stop by the local Petsmarts and scout for fish I like. Ive seen a couple of tetras I like, but I cant decide which. Well I still have time since the tank needs to cycle.
Also took some pics of my juvie GT, I purchased him at Petsmart a little over a month ago at about 2". I decided on him because he was the only GT that wasnt afraid of me, plus his tank had ich so I wanted to see if I could save him. I was able to get rid of his ich within several days. Hes brightened up alot since I got him and now hes just over 3.5"
Nice lookin GT! Great looking tank! I think if you were to do around 10 dithers of some kind it would look cool and should be plenty of space. I also think loaches would be fine mixed in with your gt and dithers. I had 3 clown loaches in with my Gt and a few other bigger cichlids and no one messed with them. Clowns get huge though eventually but it takes a few years. There are smaller loaches that stay around 4-5" like yo yo or tire track loaches and they are just as cool, IMO. I think if you had your Gt, your 10 dithers and 2-3 loaches of some kind you would be pretty well set up for a sweet tank.... But I would leave it at that.
Thanks guys! I actually made some changes to the tank already lOl. Ill post pictures tomorrow after my last final wOt wOt! I stopped by the LFS by my school today and they had several different species of loaches. Im still torn on which ditchers i should put in my tank....SO MANY to choose from. I guess thats a good thing right?
