It is kind of a pain but it's worth it. I have long tongs for aquarium plants. I grab the fish with the tongs, cut it up into bits with kitchen scissors, and use the tongs to put the fish right where I want it (for me, it's past the level of the congo tetras so they don't grab it and cart around fish pieces WAY too big for them. Pigs.)

Also, I cut it up in batches and then I re-freeze in ziplocs so I have already cut up bits later. That way I don't have to cut it up every single meal.

I think the angels could work, just watch the dynamic with the other cichlids.
That's a great idea. Never thought of kitchen scissor. When you freeze in bulk, Are you starting with frozen or fresh fish? How do you prevent freezer burn? Maybe I just had my tilapia in there too long. Do you go through bags fairly quickly?

Just saw one of my spotted severums nipping at two of my dels. If I see it again they're getting bagged up. Are they more aggressive because they're F1s?

If they bother anyone I'd guess it would be the other cichlids. Is it the same one that is harassing the other severum or can you tell them apart? That's the problem with cichlids - you just never know. :/

I've always wondered about WC vs CB with cichlid aggression, or aggression in general. I had some WC dwarf acaras spawn and go crazy in my tank, and they're not really "supposed" to do that.

You might post in the Cichlid subforum and get some advice from some other sev owners, too.

Yeah, it's the sev that harasses the other sev. I might just take him out.

Might have just gotten a dickhead fish. :( You might just remove him for a bit, I've read about some people who do that and then re-introduce later and it mellows them down. I'm certainly not a cichlid expert though, I have only owned dwarves.

Another option would be to add more wood/plants to break up lines of sight. Sometimes changing things up helps calm fish down.
