True, your ornate and del will have better contrast, have you look at red garnet sand?

I've seen it in a lot of photos on here. It looks great. I spent close to $200 on the sand in my tank now. It's the carib sea eco complete cichlid sand.

The only this with the gravel is there is a possibility that a poly will end up eating and choking in the gravel at feeding time. So i changed mine to a garnet sand, ive been looking for a garnet for almost a year and thank to the help of the members here i found some garnet sand. Here is my current sand.

Yeah, that gravel would worry me with the polys. Your sand looks great! I'm eventually going to do a full rescape in this tank. I'd like to find a large piece of wood and add red sand and call it a day.

Where did you find yours?

It would make my dels stand out so much better. If this sand didn't cost me so much I'd get the red. When they get bigger I might do it.
currently living vicarious through you. I just bought brand new black and white sand, but will have to toss it due to a TB outbreak. Although the red is a nice contrast, black and white looks good too :)

In regards to the sevrums, what does F1 mean?

I think it means the spawn of wild caught fish. So if I had a wild caught pair of severum, their babies would be F1s.
