I read somewhere that very dry driftwood takes a while to sink. Not sure if this is true, but if it is, you can always drill a couple of pieces of slate to the bottom of the wood.

I had a piece I found in the lake in my 75 for months. I had to pry it down with rocks just like you are doing. When I moved I removed one of the rocks and the thing went flying towards the top of the tank, it still wasn't water logged. It can take a while.
That tank looks beautiful though!

Okay, so I thought of a different method that will have to do for now. I got left over black air tubing and tied it to 2 large rocks. I'll tie on the plants later.
After a few months or sooner should become water logged.
