Did some spring cleaning on this tank today. I didn't like the grey background so I scraped off all of the paint. I also took the rock out that everyone likes to hide under from time to time. That rock also captures food and debris so it needed to go. I'll probably paint the back black like the 75g. I do like seeing out of the back so I might use the opaque tinting stuff that I see here and there on the forums.

This tank really needs something. I will eventually add a lot of plants and I'd like to buy a large piece of wood for it but a large piece for a 6 foot tank is going to be expensive. Meh, we'll see. Suggestions are welcome!

I like it with the rocks. Add a black backround. Most of them come with blue on one side. Try both. A backround will make the rocks and fish stand out more

I was going to paint it black but I'm feeling really lazy right now so I might just use the background you're referring to. At least for now.

Random photos I took just now. The chocolates are hard to measure but I think they're around 4". Anyone know what size they begin to get their green and pink color? The larger of the two shows a hint of its adult color from time to time but they normally look like this. In the right light you can see the adult color coming in.

I've only kept one chocolate before and he's still growing up, probably 3". He still has the brown, red, pink color.

How are your Ornates doing?

Ornates are doing great. They're not growing as fast as the dels but they're growing. I noticed one of the three angels I have in there got beat up so I'm going to take those three out and put them in the 75 gallon with the other angels. I'm betting that my larger chocolate got to him.

Yeah man the aggression of a chocolate shouldn't be underrated. Mine is 3" of pure evil, happy to hear the polys are doing well :)

I give it two yrs for the transformation to be completed. By 2019 you'll have all polys and a couple of cichlids that your holding onto out of loyalty lol
