Oscar Jumped Out

Hello; Too bad you do not have a suitable hospital tank right now. I have been in that position a few times. I was going to suggest a few days in a solution of methylene blue. Not sure if the methylene blue is still available. It use to be a suggested treatment for fungus problems. It is a dye and will stain some things. There may be other products to do the same thing.
Good luck
I believe MB is known to kill off BB

I've got a big bottle of powder MB, used it once and it stained everything, including the sealant on the tank. It worked for the fish though so that was good. If he turns for the worse I will go out and buy a large dedicated hospital tank for him and go that route. Meanwhile, I will do the frequent water changes and see how that works for a few days.

With you being in the south, perhaps a cheap hard plastic kiddie will work as a sick tank whenever necessary

Sorry to hear about your fish man. You should talk to some of the poly people about how they secure their lids as poly's are infamous jumpers. J jaws7777 Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 Hao Hao Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 magpie magpie

I didn't think about a kiddie container. That's a good idea. I'll check into that option as a sick tank that can easily be taken down and put up as needed.

A big plastic tub works too.

Sorry about your poor oscar. Hope he pulls through ok.
I had a koi jump out of my pond and I had no clue how long it was there. It felt sticky. I worked on it for half an hour and amazingly it fully recovered. Still going strong. I wish fish wouldn't jump. Lol

I cut strips of acrylic purchased from HD or lowes and duct tape it around any openings. Also lay a strip of duct tape on the front lids. Kinf of a pain but i've lost a couple of great fish due to jumping so it worth it imo

I've got to do something, don't want to lose any of my fish. Will Lowe's cut the acrylic for you like they do wood? That's a great option if so.

Thanks, hopefully he got enough of wandering in the house. It was lucky I was still in the living room and not already in bed. They make a ton of nose at night anyways and I would have probably just dismissed the noise unless I heard the flopping around.

The ones by me do.

To cover small openings, I use light diffusers found at Lowes and HDScreenshot_2017-04-20-11-19-18.png
