+1 i used this eggcrate to cover all the holes in my tank, you can put it on top of your cover and put duct tape or weights so even if the fish manage to push your lid, it cannot open the eggcrate.

Hello; yes this has happened to my tanks. It can also stain tubing. Once stained it is for good. Had it on my fingers and you just have to wait a few days for the skin to be replaced.
So, good news so far. He's up and swimming around and being curious about his surroundings again. He hasn't eaten yet, but that was expected. Now, I just hope this means he's healing up.
