Oscar with a BGK...opinions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks bud! during the second feeding today the ghost had no problem showing a lil aggression to make the others get out of his way.

I wonder if BGK do well with other fish because of their small electric discharge? Im thinking this discharge might detour bigger fish from eating them?

^^ i was wondering the same thing

today he is doing great. more active, he is starting to venture out of the cave a lil and oscar is still just ignoring him. he is eating like a pig. such great feeling when your new fish have a great appetite from the start.

and as i type he came out completely and is exploring the tank!

i understand that.....just kinda wondered if other fish can detect it

I didnt think it was a defense mechanism. Its for navigation and locating food, but i agree with EVP and think the other fish can sense / detect it and their like WTH was that, ok swim away.

true dat!!!

That's just a silly post... there are numerous experiences noted above where Oscars and BGK's have been kept with great success...

If you have an experience that reflects otherwise... then posting that would be most valid and helpful...

But screaming "True Dat" after someone else stated misinformation is completely useless...

But thatnks for trying... :D

for those interested its working out well. the BGK has made the pleco's cave his home as well. now for some reason the oscar likes to go in this cave. he never went in before but now he occasionally goes in and just sits next to the BGK. i set up 6 caves and they all hang out in the same one. lol
