Go to a pet Store and get plants and possibly ich killer if he's showing any signs of ich

Good advice. If you take a look at my notes you'll see the treatment would knock out any ick woes. The temp is high enough as well and the amount of water changes are also key to keep the ick at bay. Ick is the least of the worries right now. If it happens ( doubt it) I will admit my process os wrong. If anything I worry about breeding a tolerant perisite due to that added salt. As for plants I have set up a HOB for growth and planted bamboo in the tank. Thank you for the advice though.

Nitrates have dropped to est 15 ppm. I got 70 gallons of well water from a buddy. Ph is around 7ppm and everything checks out.

Fish is doing a lot better. Nitrates are still around 20ppm but look like they are going down. I am doing a controlled experiment on the water conditioner that I have been using to get rid of nitrates and other toxins. So far it has not done it's job. I have only seen the nitrates drop may be 5ppm (that being nice) after 5 hours. doubled the dose and we are going to see what happens.

So does anyone have a good water conditioner they will recommended? I am open the hear some w.c. techniques some of you may have out there?

Wow. Good attack plan! Did you try the metro and pyramid yet?

Have not been to the LFS for the metro or pyramid yet but I am going to the LFS after work to pick some up as well as get some chemicals that work. The problem is I am on a budget and I cannot buy every bottle on the shelf just to test to see if they actually works. This is really pis*ing me off the stuff is not cheap. I will keep everyone posted and when I say everyone I guess that would be mostly you Knifegill. Thanx for all your help and support.

We all put in what we have to help each other. Whatever it may be. And how could I not help you when my Oscar is in your avatar?

I hit the LFS got the metro but no pyramid. The metro came in a fish food which is cool but my oscar is dealing with cloudy eyes and used to large pellets. So the process of feeding my fish has turned into dump a ton in the tank hope he gets at least a mouth full then clean the tank. Can I stuff the little pellets into a shrimp or something? The directions say to discontinue feeding of other foods while being treated.
I also picked up Purigen 165 filter pouch. It was suggested to install the pouch but discontinue the melafix and primafix treatment. Being the melafix and primafix are both organic the Purigen 165 will only remove my treatment and kick the life out of the pouch? Am I wrong in saying that? Should I finish out a week of treatment and then install the pouch to lower the Nitrates? Or should I keep the treatment going until the health of the O is noticeable? I did however install one on my 75 which is not under treatment. I will also keep up on the W.C. cause that is what everyone says to do.

For the medicated food issue, have you tried holding a pellet for him and letting him take it out of your fingers?

i haven't gotten to the point where my little O will take food from my hands yet. I did however get him to come to the top of the tank and open his big mouth so I dumped some in for him. Wow just likes kids.
