Oscars...Questions..

I have never tried it withbig cichlids but 3 is typically known as a bad idea. 4 better but a couple could pair up breed and bully. 5 or more from what I understand is a sweet spot where the weakest don’t tend to get singled out. I have 5 female cons in that Oscar tank I posted. When I had three it was consistent with what I stated above. Also if you want other species 5 would be too much without that big sump. It’s sort of the borderline from a bioload persepctive. If you want other species I would try for 2 that get along but beware of a breeding pair. If they are like my jags they will pair up and immediately before breeding will proceed to kill everything else in the tank... 6 feet for sure but with 8 feet you might be ok with a breeding pair. I am super jealous.

Great job with the aquascape by the way.it looks awesome!

One of the members here had a big group of oscars and his opinion was that it was what was required to see them really thrive. Not sure how big the tank was but it was simply awesome to see.

Thank you!! Still a little way to go before i am happy with it..
Still alot to consider i guess.. will definitely keep updated on what i choose to get....
Thank you for your insight

Good choice with albinos, they are my all time most favorite fish View attachment 1381374 they have loads of personality, this is my pair
Thanks Beau.. another decision i have to make... all tiger albinos or different colour variants.. lol
How do yours go with the plants..? Inwas considering some giant vallis and Amazon sword to cover heaters... but i think it will end in disaster..

Providing them with toys and other things to keep them occupied helps. ping pong balls or wiffle balls(I tend to stay on the light weight side of the toy spectrum for them because they will throw rocks

This is what im looking foward to, after having discus for some time i really miss cichlids with more personality that you can watch and interact with.
