hi, has anyone kept their oscars with pirahnas and how long would it be before trouble starts, as i have never tried this as i dont want to chance my oscars being eaten by my red bellies.

I would appreciate any educated answers

thanks, Danny

i wouldnt do it honestly. but ive seen someone do itwith 2 oscars n one RBP. the oscars kept the RBP in a corner with their aggression

we've had our 2 big 8" in with our 3 2.5" pirahnas for a day, and we probably wouldn't do this very often but as i said the pirahnas are only small compared to the Oscars

Danny, you should know better. ;)

my pirahnas are only 2.5" and i was thinking about putting my 8" oscars in with them for a day or 2 as i had problems with the oscars tank.

I was just at the henry doorly zoo and they had oscars in with the pirahnas. But I would not try it at home. You can't see the pirahnas in picture but they are there. Also was a big midas in there

Are they in with them or not? Sounds like your asking if it will be ok, but you've already done it.. I personally have never kept pirahnas, cause they're illegal here for a reason. I have seen people keep pirahnas with things all the time, and seen the trying with no success as well. But they do have a taste for blood, and either your oscars are going to bully the little guys, or the little guys are gonna do what they do best, and attack live fish.. It's your call on whether you want to risk losing either of your fish.

I wouldn't do it. First, the o's might eat the p's and if not the p's will nip relentlessly at the o's fins which they do prey on in nature. P's are the reason that o's have the eye spot.
