Oscars + ...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like your current setup right now, but I suppose there could be some concerns as the oscars - - and maybe the BP and FH - - continue to grow. not to mention, the clown loaches may get up to about 12" as well . . .

so, ultimately, yeah, I think you might be stretching the limits on the 125G . . . but if you were to do the 7x2x2 tank you described - - about 210G - - I think you'd have a very good chance of keeping the gang together and having a very impressive show tank . . .

Thanks Sab_Fan.

I have been actively shopping around for a good deal on a custom aquarium. If anyone here has worked with someone in the US, I'd be interested in a referral.

Cheers,

J

Be sure to check on the forum classified here too, there's always tanks for sale, it's just if there's one local enough to you.

Welcome to MFK and I think your tank and fish look great. Enjoy the site.

Thank you all for your positive feedback on the videos, comments and suggestions.

I really don't to make any of my fish uncomfortable. I understand the value of stress on the fish.

I do think it is fun to experiment a little though too, so long as you are prepared to execute a plan B if plan A doesn't work :-)

I will check around on here for a good aquarium deal.

If anyone has any more help or suggestions, I am always all hears.

Cheers,

Joshua

WELCOME TO MFK!!! and yeah i think your planned upgrade would be fine for them. the only problem i see that might arise is the flowerhorn deciding it hates everything that moves. but hopefully since it was added last it will be alright. i would also make sure to add it last to the larger tank once you have it set-up, like give the other guys at least a couple of hours to settle in and then add the FH. sounds like a nice selection of fish though and GOOD LUCK :)

oh and where are the pics? ;)

Man, I really hope that you can keep your stock together for a long time. They look great together. I'm not a fan of colored rocks and blood parrots but you found a way to make it all work. A really nice tank!

Thanks so much Gruff master. I think I got somewhat lucky in composing the contents of my tank. I feel blessed to have come up with something that is somewhat natural and colorful.

When I get the next tank, I am pondering a change to sand, from gravel.

Thoughts? Also, when i change to the next big tank, my 4 big guys need their own hiding spots. Any ideas on a natural looking set of hiding spots for each of them? I have found that creating a "bullpen" type of cornering seems to be enough, it doesn't have to be a cave style enclosure to make them happy. Those would remain for the loaches.

Cheers,

Joshua
