Best of luck to you, Xilomaniac. Sorry about half of your fish order.

The economy has made much of the things I buy for my fish cheaper, so all-in-all for my family it has been a good thing.

not really changed much over here, I've noticed people buying a few less tanks but fish are still selling well. My wage hasn't gone down, nothing has really gone up, people are just more sensitive to their money at the moment. Plus they cut tax in the uk by 2.5% to encourage us to spank the cash.

Its early days yet
People's spending habits won't change significantly for a few months yet. It will probably bottom out over Q309 and then start to pick upp again. We need six months of stable commodity prices before the economy can start heating up again and then watch out, as global economic activity will double over the next ten years....or maybe not.

:naughty:

Other than stocks and retirement plan plunging and taking a dump, it has affected me a little. I'm more cautious on my overall expenses since some economist say this is only the beginning of a recession and we're actually not in a recession yet. However, I will be upgrading soon.

yeah ive read some stuff about us pulling our selves into a recession early by thinking the recession is already here

I had to sit and watch as my staff didn't get promised pay raises, and instead suffered budge cuts at the aquarium. And as of next week, I will be unemployed for 13 months. My biggest issue is that there are so many people flooding the market right now that places are hiring less experinced people to save themselves cost in paying for seasoned workers. Alot of my industry is tourist based (as much as I wish it was education based instead). Less people travel to see things, places make cuts.

Most of my tanks are sitting dry as a result.
