Our Economic State and MFK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nothing has really changed for us. We continue to spend as we normally would. We were frugal before this, so we just fit right in. My wife is a coupon wiz, searching everywhere, so we save a lot there. We very rarely eat out. We don't spend on unnecessary things. Our jobs are pretty secure for now, too.

I work two jobs, one is full time B2B sales, and the other is part-time LFS worker. The B2B has slowed down, but it seems to be out of fear more than anything, no one wants to spend any money. The LFS is booming, we're doing as well as ever. I've sold more big new tanks (125+) in the last 2 months than the previous 6. Personally, not much has changed, still buying everything I can used, I wasn't out blowing the money before, and I'm hoping to pick up some more great deals now.

On a side note, the Dow Jones Industrial average is back up over 9000 points for the first time since November, just two short months ago. I know this isn't the debate, but a recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative growth, and I don't think we've seen that yet.

Gas is cheap, I still have 2 jobs, I'm not starving, and my fish are still eating better than I am. LOL.

My biggest complaint about current economic conditions: McDonalds raised the price of the double cheeseburger to 1.29 now you have to get the McDouble if you want it for a buck... WTF only one slice of cheese?!?!

yeah ive read some stuff about us pulling our selves into a recession early by thinking the recession is already here

aka the self fulfilling prophecy... the ironic thing is that if we spent all our expendable income the economy would turn its self around....

both my parents are doing well.. my mom works for the public schools so her salary is stable and my dad is a lawyer ( he told me he gets more business in a slow economy because people want to sue to get money)
