Sad day. I lost the endli this morning. He was belly up when i turned the lights on. Poor guy, this sucks. Well hes probably happier now anyway. Measuring just over 11 inches. Look at that grin.

Your substrate looks deep. A lot of decorations. The more deco and substrate the more places your going to have mechanical waste built up. Are you doing full gravel vacs and moving the decorations to see if there is any buildup of waste under or around them? This could be why your getting high nitrate.

I was suprised how deep the sand actually is for only being 100 lbs. But yes i move the driftwood and rocks from time to time to check under it. I found a piece of beefheart in there that was hiding in a crack that was a day old or so so that couldve caused this spike. I usually just skim the sand surface to get the waste and such. I need to find a bigger gravel vac that way i dont lose 10 lbs of sand every time. But im now doing 20% WC twice a day. Ill cut back once i know my parameters are getting consistent. Ill start doing gravel vacs and wc every other day.

The new guy is starting to show some of his pattern now. I see a faint pattern on his gill plate which is cool, hes starting to look a lot like my big girl.

Yes thats the new guy. Hes starting to turn out really nice. Hes loves sikversides and tilapia and is eating like a pig. Thank you though! I think i may be more excited for your 300 gal setup than you are haha.

I forgot to share my newest growout tank. Its just going to be a fry growout tank. I picked up some peacock cichlid fry from work and im going to grow those guys out. And ill have it set up for when my plecos lay eggs again (which should be soon, female is very plump)

Havent updated in a while. I recently picked up a scomb piyara and a moke bichir. Sometime later this week or the following week i will be picking up an ornate and delhezi, both about 8". Should be some great additions, they were gorgeous. A guy brought them in to our store and we could only give him $50 store credit but i told him i was interested and he said he would take $100 for both. I will post pictures of them when i get them. But heres the new guys for now.
