Your enthusiasm in the buy/sell forum :) You are always so eager to make sure all get what they want. I am sure if you left 15-20 guys would be affected.....Glad you let us talk you through/out of it....

I feel like I owe you an apology for my response: I hate to make myself out to be a vulture waiting to swoop in at the first sign of weakness... Sorry about that.

Heres the thing, if you are considering taking a break, or walking away totally make sure that you are making your decisions for the right reasons and that it is what YOU want.

to share my experience: i had a small breakdown earlier this month when i lost 4 of my favorite fish** after moving them (2 of them I had picked up from you). Losing fish always makes me feel like I shouldnt be doing this anymore and that I should give it up. After I gave it some thought I came to the conclusion that leaving the hobby wasnt going to make me feel better or fix anything, in the end I resolved to become more diligent and pay more attention to detail

sooooo, without knowing the details of your situation the best thing i can tell you is that you should take your time and consider all aspects before making a decision.

and should you decide to take a break know that there is a community here ready to help you re-home your pets :D

I lost about 10-12 fish in the span of a month, and that didn't discourage me but I really think I need to get my stuff more organized and take a break from getting more etc. I have personal fishes that are in a personal tank and others are just fish.
Sorry to hear your lost, which fish did you lose that you picked up from me?

nope

I try to help most people find things they are looking for, but still there are people who look down on that.

I have noticed your efforts and you make me wish I lived anywhere in Cali. :) No cal, So cal, you take care of them all....

I have periods where I just feel like I'm going through the motions of the hobby without enjoying it. I feed the fish, change the water, clean the filters etc... but don't take time to appreciate the fish (and plants). However, with the exception of getting out of the saltwater game, I haven't torn down a tank because I was truly tired of keeping it. My fish provide a sort of universal relaxation for me that I just don't get from many other things. Sometimes I get fed up with not being able to obtain certain kinds of fish (dats, rays, cool oddballs) but in the end I'm happy with what I do have.

emooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

jk

The outbreak of mycobacteriosis has almost driven me out of the hobby a few years back but I made up my mind to do what must be done to stop the problem completely. It still pains me up to now.
