if that is overstocked, i dont wanna know what you guys think of my setups
agreed
the "they are gonna need a bigger tank" argument doesn't mean the tank is overstocked, it just means certain fish will eventually outgrow it ...
that pleco has a LONG time before it should need moved (i bought a 29g tank from a guy with a common pleco that was 6 years old, well over 14") not saying thats a good policy, but they don't swim a ton, and it could still move. he is in my 180 now, so he is better, but i wouldn't worry about him for a while. same with the knife, although they grow faster, i think many would agree a 55 is plenty of tank for the time being
then you just have one other fish?
my vote is WAY UNDERSTOCKED!!!
i have a 55 with about 25-30 cichlids, and 4 syndo's, and i could add more IMO
of course everything depends on your filtration (i didnt see what you have). i have about 200g worth of filters on my tank at the moment, so that helps ...
as for the jewel cichlid, i dont know about them as far as aggression / compatability, so i cant comment on "dont add another cichlid" argument ...
the BGK and pleco's dont swim around much, so thats a lot of tank to just have 1-2 other fish swimming around IMO. in my house thats a waste of water lol ...
