Of course Pythons, and all large snakes, as well as vipers, should be banned. All croc, gator, monitor, and other large lizards too. Lions, tigers, and bears too. Pelagic sharks and large rays also. These are not animals that should be in a cage or tank. Use some common sense, if you have any. Hopefully there aren't a lot of people out there dumb enough to support this.

Some animals shouldn't be kept. They are just too dangerous. If you are not smart enough to determine this for yourselves, we'll do it for you.

What an idiot....he thinks having animals in cages are cruel but keeps fish in a fish tank and doesn't think its cruel....and how do you know people leave their snakes in cages all day? People do take them out you know. & not all the animals you listed are dangerous, just like humans, there are some that are dangerous and some that aren't

Also, dogs will never be banned because too many people favor dogs over snakes. We should favor every animal equally

They're trolling, folks. And/or incredibly unknowledgeable in what they're attempting to preach, as we can see in some of their present arguments.

Just ignore it and carry on, report the trolling to an Administrator if you are really bothered, etc. But most importantly, remember, don't feed the trolls. ^_^

Darn, I'm fresh out of goats.

Dogs are not wild animals. And the attacks are not from well cared for, sensible dog breeds. Some dog breeds should be allowed to die out. They are not suitable for pets.

Same with snakes the attacks are from people who don't know how to take care of their snakes,

This ban is ridiculous. If anything its only going to ADD to the problem in the glades. And this isn't doing anything about the pythons that are already out there.

What are the breeders with gravid burms, afrocks, and yellow anacondas going to do(in florida)? This is going to ruin many peoples businesses.

A permit/licensing type system and having all pythons chipped would have been much better. If they find your snake out there, you get fined/jailed.

Also what about the hybrids? There are burmese X ball, Reticulated X Burmese, Reticulated X Afrock, and several others.

I highly doubt that any government official tasked with determining what's what will be able to tell the difference between the hybrids and the purebreds.

quite a coincidence tht they ignore the most dangerous exotic threat of all, human encroachment onto the everglades. we're swallowing up acres of everglades yet the officials in charge blame a few inconsiderate snake owners who created a problem I don't think everyone should be allowed to own a 20 foot or even a 12 foot plus snake, but at the very least there should be a permit to apply for in order for responsable owners to keep these snakes.

wish i could help but not an American.

Hopefully you're smart enough to not say that in person to someone who keeps any of those animals...

i wish he had the testicular fortitude to say it to my face. Claudia could use some free meat ;).

shouldnt feed the troll but hope over to the media lounge and find my thread. tell me i cant keep a croc.
Us exotic keepers have a smaller injury rate % than zoos by far.

While I don't hope this ban goes anything further. I don't think it makes sense for casual hobbyist to keep some of the largest snakes in the world.

Sure you care for them fine but there does need to be a line drawn. Just as long as it doesn't continue to grow in banning.

its going to continue.......... HSUS supported this ban. They also supported HR669(something you need to research). They WILL be back and its going to be easier this time.
