wow, thats a tricky question to answer, I'm shorta stuck on the 3 black pacus because they get huge really quickly and need a huge tank...

yeah some said about 800 gallons. others said 1000 gallons. other said leave it to a public aquarium. dont the red bellied ones only get to 24"?

Memphis Zoo has 2 Red Bellys that are close to 3'. I just rescued a 20"er. I'd say heat a pond!

do piranhas stay small? i heard that piranhas will bite during water changes and stuff like that. i just really liked the look of the black pacu's, so i wanted to get a few, but it looks like they require a very large space. id be willing to get an 800 gallon or 1000 gallon to house them though.

darn. im not sure if i would have the funding for a tank of that size. i mean id do just fine with a few large community tanks, but keeping some pacu's would be amazing. dont piranhas stay smaller than pacu's? could i do a group of piranhas in a couple hundred gallons?
