Painting a 3D background, is it possible ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
- Don't let the wife read that LOL ;)

Exactly !!!!!. I'll just tell her some guy on mfk said it would look great... sorry babe

Krylon fusion spray paint for plastics is fine
Id rather avoid spraying. The mist is sure to get on the surface doubt i'll have time to properly tape the thing

I wouldnt spray it myself. I honestly dont know what your background is made of but even if its plastic the krylon will eventually start to come off. Black pond sheild osnt going anywhere. Plus over spray will not be possible.

Not sure I understand what you mean. What’s wrong with spray paint?

What they said.

He's wanting to paint it while in the tank so he is saying he doesn't want to have to mask the rest of the tank off and such to avoid overspray ;)

Yup

Agreed it will eventually peel. Even my old plumbing eventually peeled or chipped.

I had an acrylic overflow spray painted blue inside my reef that started to peel after 2 years. If you give it a light sanding it will hold pretty well. I didn’t read the part of not wanting to remove it from the tank. Makes sense now. Best of luck! Post about what you choose to do and how it goes. Would like to see the result
