Panhandlers

What do YOU do.

Personally, if you give them money, in my opinion you're just naive. But if you really think giving money is the right thing to do. Go ahead.

I give them food, water, and if i had a way to offer them a job, i would do that too.
My friend offered a panhandler water on a hot day once and he said, "i dont want water!" well EXCUSE me, i thought you were homeless and down on your luck. But water is obviously not acceptable.

One time i was with friends on our way to disneyland. We had bought a bunch of Egg McMuffins. We got too many and i saw a homeless guy with a sign. I got out and gave him like 6 egg mcmuffins.

D. Scream at them to get a job

They are rampant in SF and it makes me sick that the city aka tax payers practically support them...

To put things in perspective before I get flamed, poverty in the US is NOTHING compared to third world countries. Traveling though Bali there were many homeless and poor people there. Was there any government program to help them? NO, hence all the people in poverty were forced with find a way to make money and eat OR starve. Believe me people figured out how to honestly make money and eat....

i agree with Karma. theres needs to be more choices on this poll. 98% of the panhandlers i see are perfectly able to get a job. but they are lazy and would rather wait for handouts.

and there's nobody to blame but that person themself. people are in charge of their own life; its up to them to decide what they want to do with themselves. they live on the streets by CHOICE

I always look at their shoes. If their shoes are nasty and falling apart, I give them food/water/money. If they are new, I ignore them.

quite. If they were given the chances and opportunities of over here, they wouldn't be in "poverty" for long.
