Parachromis managuensis

Update: The fish on the left side of the divider pictured two posts above this one is doing the fertilization dance on a huge boulder on his/her half of the tank. I don't see any eggs on the boulder. This is the aggressor of the two and spends a lot of time trying to get to the other side with the other fish. They both seem like they want to get to each other but I just know if I take the divider out I'll be going back to one hiding and getting beat up. Should I take the chance now that this one is doing the mating dance? Could this one that is rubbing the rock be the female? Can the female be the bully? pops pops Frank Castle Frank Castle

Edit: I don't see a tube on the ventral side so that might rule out laying eggs.

I would just wait and see if she lays eggs, then you can try introducing the male to the female's side and see what happens, that way you can always move him back if a problem occurs

I would put them together when you have time to keep an eye on things, expect some lip locking and side bashing/biting. if things look to be getting out of hand, put the divider back up.

keep in mind jag love is brutal and aggressive by its very nature.
