what are you talking about, all i said is they are a little to hybrid LOOKING for my taste but there still cool, lol

I was just trying to state that one trait that makes a hybrid in one species does not translate to other species. I tried to read Ole Seehausen's book on lake Vic rock dwelling cichlids and it was making my head spin as there were so many species that had the pied trait usually in females. I was mainly curious as to the connection you were making between their looks and hybridization hence my question about the OB peacocks. I type at about 5 mph but with my ADD my brain is going 200mph so sometimes I do not express myself correctly no offence ment just curiousity.

I haven't gotten them yet. He is shipping today for Thursday delivery. Hope they'll be alright...It is getting chilly here at night. I am paranoid as this is my first experience with ordering fish and having them shipped.

Well, my fish have arrived!!! All are alive, look great and are acclimating as we speak.

Here we go...I think I have 2 males. Which I wanted 2m and 5f...We'll see as they grow. Dave had said on these the females were harder to tell because it could be a sub-dominent male. They are just in a 16 gallon quarentine tank with the flamebacks right now.

they look great! we will have to continue to share info, i seen one little female in the pictures, mine have settled in nicely and have begun settleing the pecking order.
they are housed with kyoga zebra and flame backs, and red finned piebald, in a 1oo gal.

How are you able to spot a female right away? I know the males get the coloring on their fins but Dave had said females were harder to pick out as it could be a sub-dominent male. @ are decent sized about 1 1/2"-2" the others are pretty little.

I love the looks of those fish!! I just don't have a tank right now for them, but they will be one of the next ones I get. Awesome pick up!
