When I moved in with my soon to be wife I gave her a 2ft tank I had lying around took her to the fish shop and let her fill it with colourful small fish.

simple as it is, i just asked them, told them i had the money, and said that my fish are getting too big
well i live in a granny flat / caravan thing in my backyard and my auntie gave me a 110 gal just randomly so one day i discovered tangs so i decided i needed some buut mum was all like you cant set it up till you move in the house cuz she hates me living in the caravan buut one day i got a mate over and we moved it in the caravan when she first saw it i had already filled it put one filter in all sand and most of the rocks and water i could tell she was very angry but she also knew that she was not going to be able to move half a ton of glass rocks and water and has now accepted that its staying there
i got fish that were too big for the small tank (well reserved them) then she would get home and go 'omg u cant put them in there, quick lets get a bigger one' ...walks off to comp, 3 days later 125 is on the doorstep...and so on lol
