my parents dont care how big the tanks are along i can pay for the hobby and for the bills.

Agreed. You parents probably won't care, as long as you pay your way. Offer to help pay for the electricity your tanks use.

how did you get your parents to get you a bigger tank?

i got mine beacuse my dad and mom say this was the biggest tank i get. (not) My dad would let me put a 130 down stair not my mom.

My dad was the one who got me into fish keeping, so he's fine with getting new tanks and fish. It was actually his idea to upgrade from my old 55g to my current 220g (and he paid for the tank and all the supplies, the only thing I had to pay for was the fish)

I talked my dad into a 55 for a steal off cragslist, after we set it up my dad loves it. Now my mom is more tollerant.

Even better, dad wants to make a "man cave" and wants a tank or two down there!

everytime i get a new fish my mom is like "oh great" but then she ok after awhile.

My mom wouldn't mind if i picked up a 10g there or a 30g periodically. Then they would build up and clutter the basement. Then I offer her trading the equivalence of the smaller tanks for one large tank. To cut down on clutter and save room. Works everytime, I've done this 3 times now resulting in a 90g, 120g, and a 125g.
