I picked up this little guy at my LFS. I was told he was a parrotxconvict. Not sure if thats true. Let me know what you guys think. ;)

BTW there was like 5 or 6 of them in the tank. He was the only on that was not deformed. :WHOA:

you got a shortbodied one. i have one too. mine has a longer body and looks more like a pink con than a parrot. he looks good. he will try to breed with any female that will let him, so be ready for that. i bought mine because i got tired of watching my two bps spawn and having their eggs foul my water. i thought that the female might breed with him instead, but she out grew him and he can't overpower her so she doesn't like him.

Jellybean parrot huh? So it is a conxparrot? Now are these first generation or are his parents jelly beans too? How can I tell for sure its a male?

BTW I seen these guys afew times. I didn't like them at first but then they started to grow on me. Not much color but a very cute friendly fish

I have a female Green Terror/Gold Saum will he try to bred with her?

Re read the original post. The seller told him they were hybrids bro. A convict x BP is a jellybean parrot. Thats what the lfs around here call them at least. I don't know what the fish will breed with to be honest but I figured they would be a pretty aggressive fish having convict in them... Might be nice right now but it may turn on you. lol. The fish is more than likely 1st gen if the seller told you the cross.

they're both. I think they are more commonly parrot X convict crosses though. I've heard these called "jellybean parrots" too. They tattoo and dye them funky colors so they look like jellybeans.

Well either way I think he was a good pick up. As far as him being abit naughty. He is very peaceful, until I fed them. He is a pretty agressive eater.
He has a small mouth like a parrot, but he can sure swallow those cichlid sticks
