Peacock Bass (not a true cichlid, but definately showing hugely similar evolutionary traits)

Peacock Bass aren't true cichlids? Someone mentioned this in another thread, and I was curious about the 'legitimacy' of the remark.

this is true but i know they are called a bass but i dont think they are a bass either
