Okay, I think I can answer my own question here but I just want to make sure. Yesterday my Fluval FX5 came for my tank (75 gallons). So I took my HOB AC 110 and powerhead out of the tank and replaced it with the Fluval filter. I bumped my tank temp up to 82F in anticipation of getting another pbass next week. When I went to bed they were fine, eating, swimming, everything was normal. I came home today, approximately 18 hours later and suddenly they're not swimming in a school and seem to be respirating hard. I've since added an airstone to the tank, dropped the water level down so the filter will agitate the surface more and have the light off. Do you think there is a lack of oxygen in the water? How long will it take to re-oxygenate the water and should I do anything else right now? I put the bio-rings from my AC 110 in the fluval fx5 for bio-filtration and the only media in there is the sponges it comes with. HELP!!!!

any ideas on how long it might take for them to come back to normal??? I'm freakin out!!! Should I throw the powerhead back in there near the top for additional agitation?

I've had the air pump on there for at least an hour and a half and they're still respirating hard and hanging out near the top. Should I do a water change as well?
