You do realize there are more than one species of pbass and they can vary from 16 to 36+ inches depending on species, right?
The smallest species will still reach atleast 20-24". Either way, peacock bass are too big for your 180.

Well the only real advice I can give (since I have no experience with peacock bass) is to not follow callen's advice. Google is definitely not a good place to look for info on any fish (particularly fish over 12"). There are far too many sites like the one in this link: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=16+1911+1956&aid=2556 that will tell you idiotic things like Cichla ocellaris having a minimum tank size of 70 gallons. I would just wait until someone who has experience with them finds this thread.
Someone w/ some experience FOUND this thread. Google is a search engine, A WAY TO FIND INFORMATION on the net! Of course everything you find on the internet is not gonna be true....that's why they call it RESEARCH! You have to use COMMON SENSE as well. If a website tells you a fish gets 36" long, and will be fine in a 70 gallon tank, then obviously it's BS, if you take that info as true then your a fn idiot. You know how i found MFK?....Google...Aquamojo.com....Google.....TUIC....Google! My point is...Google is a TOOL, you have to look at MANY different sites to gather enough information, to make an EDUCATED decision on what's real, and whats not!

And I<3fish is right, your tank is too small for full grown Cichla...your better off gettin a tiretrack eel or somethin:D

Yes someone with experience did find this thread, but unfortunately that person (you) was unable to give any usefull info. Google is a complete waste of time. Why sort through all the BS google gives you for hours not knowing for sure which info is correct and which is false when you could use MFK which is designed to help people who are in the same situation?

If the OP wanted to use google to solve all their problems, then do you honestly think they would have even bothered posting here in the first place? :screwy:

Oscars should be ok, as long as there's not too much size difference. Mine get along fine.

:iagree: There's no such thing as an adult pbass that's only 16". That is called a stunted pbass. Look at JohnPTCs tank. His monos (which are rumored to be one of the "smaller" pbass) are all over 24".

I thought my 400g was too small for cichla. I would never keep them in a 180g.

 Seriously, I'm not suggesting anyone attempt to keep adult cichla in a 180. However, if you started with small juvies, except with tems, you probably have close to 2 years before your fish totally outgrew the 180. If you are like most people, by that time you would be bored with the fish anyway, and would want to trade for something different. Heck, I"ve sold rare $200 plus discus from Brazil in the past simply because I had "been there and done that", and wanted the tank space for something else.
