I'm thinking of setting up a 75 gallon tank with a few Peacock Bass in it. what's a good number to get? I was thinking maybe 3...does anybody have any tips, experience, etc??
thanks in advance
I have a 75 set up with 2 peacock bass , 1 tiger oscar , 2 bala sharks , 3 redline torpedo barbs , 2 plecos , 1 geophagus deamon.
I can max out everyone except the 2 bass. They should get at least 20 inches long.
My 75 is 18 inches wide so it should be good for a year or 2.
I like a variety of fish and I have a thing for tiger oscars. I also need mop up guys to eat the oscars messy left overs.
I do notice my wild caught brokopondo ocellaris chases the tank raised mono peacock bass. With 2 bass there is aggression and a pecking order so to speak.
Suprisingly the geophagus deamon chases both my bass , and the oscar is totally passive with no aggression towards the peacock bass. I do notice the wild caught bass is starting to stand up to the geophagus as if hes getting tired of its b/s.
I am happy with the 75 , but I plan on getting a 180 someday. I want maxed out monster bass someday.
I will be happy with 1 or maybe 2 maxed bass barring any aggression issues.
