I first got mine onto small fish pieces, then I added pellets (Hikari Cichlid Biogold) to the bag of fish. Trying to put a pellet inside a small piece of fish worked strait away and it wasn't long before he would take the pellets by them selves, a little at first than proper feedings. Just saying this worked for me with my leichardti without having to starve my fish for months.
