did you think off using a "fixture" or fountain pump with a 3/8" clear PVC tube they are not expensive and move 75gph+

Dont need to move more than 1 gph

its actually not hard at all to refill, all you have to do is use a wet vac or somthing and suck the air out, the lack of air will cause a vacuum and draw watter up into the box. theres a vid on youtube about how the guy who connected 5 tanks with water bridges(same concept as the box) filled his bridges with a wetvac by sucking the air out.

or .....

i was just wondering how much of a pain it would be to refill the penthouse if you accidentally drain it while doing water changes?
also i wondered if you can get clear tubing that will be stong enough to support the penthouse?

Here is the pump to solve my problem

ummmm something tells me this spells disaster... explain exactly how the water will defy gravity and stay up there?

vacuum....

you ever played in the bath as a kid with a glass... and turned it upside down so the mouth was facing the bottom of the bathtub underwater and then raised it above the water level...

the vacuum created inside it stops the water from escaping...
minda like an inverted diving bell :)

Physics

the water will only exit if displaced by air, since there will be no way for air to enter, there is no way for the water to exit.

experiment with a bowl & a glass

Does anyone remember the link to the aquarium with the water tower over it ?

had bubbles & everything..

ok but how is the water "up there" supposed to keep clean if theres no circulation?
i still dont think its a good idea. go for it tho id like to see the end result.
best of luck

i'm watching this thread for the end result
