Perch tank

Can’t wait to see how this turns out, that’s the perfect size tank for average adult Yellows. Just as a tip, my trio prefers bloodworms to any other food option.

Yeah the tanks footprint is pretty sweet. I was lucky enough I found a stand for it as fast as I did.

Will have fish by next Friday. Couldn't resist picked up two walleye with the order to give them a try. Unfortunately my flowerhorn in my 90 gallon is up there in age and not doing too well so the walleye will have a larger tank when they outgrow the 65.

Walleye r cool, just keep an eye out as they like clean water

I have kept Yellow perch on several occasions. They tend to do best in small schools when getting them to feed on non live foods to get the competition effect. I currently have a group of 5. I started them out on a diet of live shiners and currently they are on a heavy diet of diced cocktail shrimp and tilapia. They also will come to the surface for freeze dried krill and cichlid pellets. Yellow perch are pretty passive non aggressive fish in my experience, but will obviously pick on and eat most small little fish. Mine are currently housed with a few large golden shiners with zero issues.

Fish came yesterday from Jonah’s and I am very pleased with them. Both species were super healthy and in great shape. Fish acclimated no problem. It’s crazy to see how slim the walleye are compared to the perch almost like tiny rockets. Very pleased and can’t wait to watch them grow.

Yeah, they look really thin, which one is the Walleye?

Right, now I see what you meant by the comparison between the two species.Looking forward to seeing how they fill out and grow.

I have a couple the same size from Jonahs too. Once they get used to the tank which was about 5 days they get very active. All over the place not shy and really do eat everything. Mine eat pellets, minnows, blood worms you name it.
