Perfect cichlid for 75 gallons

i take your point thats why i was asking which species of bichir was intended. i dont keep them, ive just always seen them in larger tanks. seems like they occupy quite a bit of floor space when theyre grown.

Oh they definitely take up some realestate but the upper jaws can be kept in 18 inch wide tanks they really arent active


Allot of the sizes are exaggerated and cb stay smaller.

Yeah can I keep two medium cichlid like acara or fire mouth with two smaller bichir types or two medium cichlids with one bichir? Or is two bichir and one medium or smaller cichlid the best option, I’ve heard acara are interactive, I don’t really believe it

blue acaras are quite personable and fun. and you can keep them in nice sized groups too. theyre also resilient and tough for their size. ive had some success using them as target fish/dithers for larger aggro cichlids and breeding severums.

Possibly. I have never kept gt.

So I’ve been looking back into a single cichlid and have been thinking about a Grammodes or istlantum cichlid. Any info about either of these, hoping to keep a nice male
